Dixon & Daughters by Deborah Bruce
31st May to 7th June 2025
Set inside a modest house in Bradford, the action takes place in multiple rooms of the house
at the same time. It is present day.
An important and timely play that follows the lives of three generations of women living in
the Dixon family home. Mary (our matriarch) has just been released from prison.
She wants to come home and forget all about it – but Briana (her stepdaughter) has other ideas.
Over two tumultuous days, the family is forced to confront not only their past, but everything
about themselves. Because the truth doesn't go away, even if you refuse to hear it.
'An involving examination of exactly why women continue to suffer in silence, in homes where
they should feel safe... an authenticity that cannot be questioned...
it has the tang of truth as well as the tension of drama'
